Altly – The Alternative Facebook?
This week I was alerted to a potential Facebook competitor called Altly It has been developed by Dmitry Shapiro the former Myspace Music CTO. Altly (yes named as an Alternative to Facebook) follows others such as Diaspora hoping to gain those Facebook deserters that are sick of the changing privacy t/cs on the site. Though natural search engine results drive the most website traffic, online consumers are increasingly using emerging channels to navigate to websites, with social media having the greatest influence on younger generations, according to a report by Forrester.
